Positive COVID-19 cases and preventive screening underway at École nationale de police du Québec

Preventive health measures are currently being implemented at École nationale de police du Québec (ENPQ). Following an epidemiological investigation by Public Health, rapid COVID-19 tests were used to screen two cohorts of police cadets. As a result, seven cadets were officially tested by Public Health. As we’re writing this message, five positive cases have been identified, confirming an outbreak. ENPQ is in contact with Public Health to validate its actions.

As a preventive measure, ENPQ has asked approximately 60 people (employees and students) to be tested by Public Health as they were potentially in contact with the known cases. The results will allow us to minimize the risks and adapt the measures on an ongoing basis.

Training maintained

Please note that all basic and advanced training courses are maintained. ENPQ is making every effort to maintain a safe work and learning environment while limiting the impact on training. Enhanced health measures are in effect since Monday morning to avoid non-essential contacts. In addition to preventive testing, some in-person activities have been cancelled, teleworking is recommended until January 10, 2022, and spaces have been decontaminated.

Information regarding this situation will be updated as new developments arise.
