Reinforce Police Services in Indigenous Communities - ENPQ Strategic Measures Reports

The École nationale de police du Québec (ENPQ) is happy to share a report about the main actions made possible with the help of a 9.78 M$ government funding granted to the ENPQ for the years 2021 to 2025.

In December 2020, following the recommendations of the Viens Commission and the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, the Government of Quebec gave the ENPQ this funding to help improve police training that considers Indigenous realities, give better access to training for Indigenous people, and support Indigenous police forces.

In the detailed document, you will find a summary of four financial actions, statistics, and important highlights regarding the results achieved through these measures. The content will be formally presented at the upcoming ADPPNIQ conference, scheduled for June.

The ENPQ has taken steps to show its commitment to offering inclusive training that respects the realities of Indigenous communities. The measures demonstrate tangible progress and have resulted in meaningful changes to institutional practices and structures.
