Several people are wondering how to properly dress when attending formal events such as the certificate awarding ceremony. The following suggestions are presented in order to answer these questions and to guide guests on what to wear.
The certificate awarding ceremony being a formal event, the École nationale de police du Québec wishes to point out that guests are not allowed to wear jeans.
Informal wear or business casual attire is usually indicated for guests attending a ceremony.
Full uniform or informal wear is indicated for peace officers or police officers wishing to attend the ceremony. Unless stated otherwise by the organization, wearing a ball cap and a bulletproof vest is inappropriate.
Please note that when on the ENPQ campus, the uniform must be worn at all times without any omission, addition or modification and cannot be altered for any reason whatsoever.
Wearing a ball cap, a bulletproof vest or tactical intervention attire is forbidden during this official ceremony.
A directive of the police organization regulates the carrying of the service weapon. Therefore, police officers must check with their organization whether they should carry it given the nature of the event.
It is a tradition at École nationale de police du Québec to invite career peace officers to present the certificate to their daughter or their son, their granddaughter or their grandson. Since it is a formal presentation, the following attire is required:
Full uniform | Informal wear when the peace officer cannot wear the uniform |
| Ladies
|
Jeans, in any form, are forbidden when presenting a certificate. |
If the parents presenting the certificate are retired peace officers, they must contact the organization they used to work for to see if it is possible to borrow a uniform. If it is not possible, then informal wear as described previously is required.
Jeans, in any form, are forbidden when presenting a certificate.
