Course

The teaching and learning activities that enable students to develop a competency and meet specific training objectives and that can thereby contribute to making up one or more programs. A course can take various forms: practical assignments, interactive lectures, simulations, seminars, internships, research, personal assignments or others.

Course duration

Period (in hours) during which the planned activities included in the course outline take place under the supervision of an instructor in a location designated for this purpose and according to the schedule established by ENPQ. With the exception of the university courses not under the jurisdiction of ENPQ, the duration of each course listed in the course catalog is equal to the number of days multiplied by eight hours (excluding lunch hour). 

Work in class

Period (in hours) dedicated to the production of documents, experimentation of techniques, preparation of presentations, mandatory reading, etc. This work is done within class hours. The period starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. (excluding lunch hour).

Mandatory work after class

Period (in hours) dedicated to the production of documents, experimentation of techniques, preparation of presentations, mandatory reading, etc. This work is done outside class hours.

Number of places

Maximum number of students in a group.

Number of groups planned

Number of groups entered in the course calendar. It is based on the number of registrations projected by police forces in their training plans. ENPQ may add groups to those originally scheduled depending on demand.
