To enable students to acquire practical and legal knowledge on the use of police traffic lidar (Laser) devices within the recognized jurisprudential framework.

Exigence(s)

  • Must be a peace officer.

Particularity

 

Students who have met the requirements of this course must be requalified every five years.

 

Content

 

Speeding offences and law enforcement — Basic principles of the police traffic lidar (Laser) device — Verification — Use — Legal and operational considerations — Safety— Court testimony — Presentation of the devices — Supervised exercises — Directives of École nationale de police du Québec and police forces  — Moot court

 

Rate per student 2025-2026

This course is typically taught by a requalification instructor duly trained by École nationale de police du Québec. It is conducted off-campus within Quebec police organizations.

However, ENPQ may provide this course to police forces that request it. In such instances, the two parties will agree on a price based on the location and number of students enrolled.
