Competencies or Objectives

To allow students to assimilate the basic concepts of the use of force based on the various operational reference models recognized in the Quebec police training community. In addition, this course will allow students to facilitate a feedback session using these basic concepts.

Animator [232-201-06] or Teaching and Learning Practices [232-201-08] or Educational Practices and Coaching [232-204-07] or Integration to the Instructor Function [232-803-16]

Must be a peace officer

 

Particularity

Students whose training itinerary includes the Didactics of Physical Intervention – Instructor [214-601-18] course must be able to perform the four following techniques and meet the criteria on the corresponding evaluation grid:

  1. Speedcuffing without support in a standing position;
  2. Handcuffing with joint restraint in a standing position;
  3. Handcuffing with joint restraint in a prone position;
  4. Neck restraint followed by handcuffing in a prone position.
